Adolph “Ray” Stadnicki, 77, of Chicopee, passed away on Tuesday March 25, 2025 at Agawam West Rehab & Nursing Center. He was born on January 20, 1948 in Springfield and was the son of the late Adolph J. and Irene A. (Galica) Stadnicki. Ray was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. He was a graduate of Chicopee Schools and Southern Connecticut State College, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Chemistry. He later received his Master’s degree and CAGS from Springfield College. He served in the US Army and was stationed as an MP at the US Military Academy at West Point during the Vietnam War. Ray taught for the City of Chicopee for thirty-five years where he was a science teacher at Taylor School, Bellamy Middle School and Chicopee Comprehensive High School where he was also the Supervisor of Science and Technology. Ray was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He spent much of his time at the family lakefront cottage in Otis where he liked to entertain family and friends with gourmet meals and plenty of libation. He also enjoyed woodworking and helping others with handyman projects.
Ray is survived by his brother, Richard T. Stadnicki and his wife, Susan of Maine; his sister, Patricia L. Jenkins and her husband, John of Chicopee; nieces and nephews: Dr. Michael Stadnicki and his wife, Sarah of Maine, Jennifer Fricchione of New Hampshire, Derek Jenkins of Chicopee and Erin Jenkins of Brattleboro, Vermont. He also leaves behind six grand nephews: Spencer, Max and Simon Stadnicki and Jake, Cole and Reid Fricchione.
