Albin W. Wajda, 90, of Chicopee, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke.  Albin was born on February 9, 1925 in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Casimir and Katherine (Czaban) Wajda. Albin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the battles of the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.  Albin was a retired welder with the former Fisk and Uniroyal tire companies in Chicopee.  

He was predeceased by his brothers John and Stanley and his sisters Frances (Nowacki), Catherine (Noiseux) and Leona (Filar). Albin is survived by his brother Frank, his sister Anna (Waniewski), his devoted nephews, Thomas Filar and Robert Waniewski and several other nephews and nieces.  

Albin’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St. in Chicopee at 11 am. His burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery St. in Chicopee.
