CHICOPEE     Alice M. (Dunn) Kobus Kovitch, of Chicopee, went to her heavenly home on 5/16/2026. She worked in the Chicopee School Department for twenty-five years, retiring in 1997. Alice was born on December 21, 1931 in Northampton. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Dunn and Alice (Sullivan) Dunn, both of Northampton. She was a 1950 graduate of Sacred Heart HS in Holyoke, a communicant of St. Anne Church in Chicopee, a member of the Chicopee Falls Women’s Club, the Chicopee School Department Retirees and attended Aqua Fit at the Holyoke YWCA for 28 years. She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Charles Kovitch, a brother, John Dunn, her stepmother Mary (Donohue) Dunn and two brother-like first cousins Edward and George Keefe, of Northampton and two stepchildren. Alice is survived by her daughters: Judith Dube of Ludlow, Paula Cunningham (Richard) of Belchertown, Brenda Potter (Donny) of Palmer, her son Michael Kobus (LouAnn) of South Hadley; two grandchildren Ryan Kobus of NH and Shannon Kobus of VA, a great grandson, Nolan Kobus, two nieces Kim Dunn Lampron of Hatfield and Debbie Dunn Trombley of NV. She also leaves behind three stepchildren, ten step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren. There are no calling hours. Family and friends may attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Anne’s Church on 30 College St., Chicopee on June 1, 2026 at 12:00. Her burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts Veteran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 577 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
