Anna (Russ) Tirpak, 94, of Chicopee, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Mt. Marie Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Holyoke.  She was born on May 18, 1931, in Lanz, Czechoslovakia and was the daughter of Franc and Marie (Pleier) Russ. Anna lived in Germany from 1946 to 1952 and in Chicopee from 1952 to the present. She had to leave school during the war to work as a nanny and family assistant. She worked at W. T. Grant’s and retired in 1993 as a payroll manager at K-Mart. Anna was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Tirpak, her brother, Rudolf Russ and her sister, Edeltraud Babij. Anna is survived by her brother, Hans Russ of Chicopee and Florida, several nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and grand nephews. Calling hours are on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 9:30 to 10:30 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
