Anthony J. Budd, 95, of Chicopee, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Mt. Marie Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center. He was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and also worked at A.G. Spalding. Anthony was born on December 12, 1924 in Chicopee and was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Kopacz) Budzynkiewicz. He was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr, a member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849 and past post commander of the American Legion Post 275. Anthony was a World War II Army veteran serving with the 2801st Engineer Service Company. Besides his parents, Tony was predeceased by his wife, Sophie (Bednarski) Budd, who died on October 29, 2014 and two brothers, Peter Budzynkiewicz and Edward Budd. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Budd and a sister, Helen Baxdendale. Due to the COVID 19 Virus, a funeral home service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm.
