Charles D. Hewson, III “Rusty,” 70, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was a retired dock worker for Consolidated Freightways “CF” and Conway Trucking Company. Charles was born on February 12, 1951 in Buffalo, New York. He was the son of the late Charles D. Hewson, II and Aileen (Schichtel) Hewson. Rusty served in the Air Force Reserve from 1970-1976. He dedicated his life to his family and friends and was a loyal Buffalo Bills fan. Rusty was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council 69 and American Legion Post 452. He enjoyed driving his classic Corvette and cooking for everyone. His sense of humor and smile is one to be remembered. Rusty is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane (Roth) Hewson, sister, Deborah A. Hewson, brother, John P. Hewson of Buffalo, NY; as well as his three loving daughters, Jenny Aube and her husband, Marc of Chicopee, Melissa Bryda, and her husband, Antoni “Tony” of Chicopee and Charlene Guertin and her husband, Greg of Chicopee and seven grandchildren, Marc Jr., Matthew, Gabrielle, Samuel, Mckenna, Lily, and Lacey. Rusty’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee at 9 am. A Mass at Holy Name Church at Assumption Parish, 106 Springfield St. in Chicopee will be at 10 am, followed by burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery at 800 Montgomery St. in Chicopee.
