Daniel P. Peloquin, 73, of Chicopee, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.  A life-long resident of Chicopee, Daniel was born on April 19, 1950 in Holyoke and was the son of the late Gerard A. and Doris L. (Plante) Peloquin.  He served his country during the Vietnam War enlisting in the U.S. Navy.  He then completed both hospital corps school & field medical service school finishing his military service as a Marine Corpsman. Daniel worked for Eastern Etching & Manufacturing for 45 years as a Foreman of three departments.  He was a dedicated employee and stayed with them until their closure in spring of 2020.  He is survived by his beloved wife of forty- eight years, Joanne M. (Lortie) Peloquin; three daughters, Kathleen Peloquin of Middletown, CT, Kelly Marra and her husband, Peter of Chicopee and Karen Peloquin and her husband, William Searle-Spratt of Chicopee; two brothers, Thomas of Chicopee and Edward of Feeding Hills; five grandchildren, Anthony, Hunter, Savannah, Shiloh and Austin: two sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws , his mother-in-law, Marion Lortie,,and many nieces and nephews.  Daniel is predeceased by a brother, Ronald Peloquin.  He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar and harmonica.  Daniel also enjoyed playing cribbage, poker, dancing, cooking and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and family.  Calling hours are on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 4 to 6 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee.  A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.  Burial will be private.
