Delmar Arthur Riberdy, 80, of Chicopee, MA died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 22, 2022. Del was born in Chicopee on February 24, 1941, the son of the late Delmar F. Riberdy and Evelyn (Lord) Riberdy. He graduated from Chicopee High School in 1959 and entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1964. After, he worked as a salesman at several local lumber yards and raised his family with his loving wife, Theresa M. (Kolasz) Riberdy in Chicopee, MA. He loved puzzles, collecting stamps and coins, computer games and trains. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, who passed in 2009. He is survived by his sons Steven D. Riberdy and his wife, Michelle of Wilbraham, MA; Michael A. Riberdy of Chicopee, MA and his two grandchildren, Lara K. Riberdy and Sebastian E. Riberdy of Wilbraham as well as his sister Dorothy Haley of Coatesville, PA. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Barbara Czelusniak and her husband (Richard) of Lenoxdale, MA; Carol Whitman and her husband (Ned) of West Springfield, MA; his niece Jill Schultz and nephews Mark Harris, Thomas (wife Kristin) and David (wife Kim) Czelusniak. As well as many great nieces (Abby, Stephanie, Natalie, Emily, and Erin). Family and friends are welcome to visit the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 10 to 11 am. A funeral home service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee.
