Dona A. (Mougin) Rice, 64, of Springfield, died on Monday, February 6, 2017 at home. She was an Asset Administrator at ISO New England in Holyoke. Dona was born on March 23, 1952 in Springfield and lived there all her life. She was the daughter of Eugene E. Mougin and the late Theresa M. (Douglas) Mougin. Dona was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She was a very loyal person, who loved her family and a “mom everyone deserves to have.” She is survived by her son, Timothy Rice of Longmeadow; her daughter, Christine Smyth of Ludlow and her fiancé, Jason Kotfila; two sisters, Marilyn Jambora and her husband, Richard of Chicopee and Marceline Brennan and her husband, Terry of Wilbraham; five grandchildren, Andrew Rice, Alexander Rice, Liam Smyth, Keely Smyth and Collen Smyth and several nieces and nephews. Dona’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 10:30 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 387 Chestnut St., Springfield at 11:30 am . Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours are on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.
