Edward Walter Manicki of Brimfield, Massachusetts passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 18th 2023 after battling cancer.  Edward was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts in 1938 to the late Walter and Caroline Manicki of Ames Avenue Chicopee also owner of the “Walt Manicki Orchastra”.  Edward graduated from Chicopee High School in 1957 he went on to serve with the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve for 6 years.  After his time with the Reserves he started his own business as a builder, craftsman which lead him to his career with the Springfield Fire Department.  Edward belonged to the Fire Fighters Union Local 648 and was a member of the Privates Club. He also belonged to the Springfield and Massachusetts Retirement Association and was President with the Little Sun Valley Skating Club.  Edward retired from the Springfield Fire Department and spent his time out in Brimfield Massachusetts with his wife and several furry pets. They both had a passion for horses where they would ride the trails often around their land. He had a love of nature, gardening, and woodworking. Edward also enjoyed time spent with family and grandchildren along with lunches with his buddies. Ed was also an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.  Edward leaves (from previous marriage to Joan Kapecki Manicki) their two sons, Michael and his wife, Diane, Mark, three daughters, Deborah and her husband Steven Poliks, Janet Tousignant and Peter Tousignant, Sandy and deceased son Nathan Phillips who was taken from us much too soon and her fiancé Gregg Franklin. Also three loving grandchildren, Ashley, fiancé Davith Ou, Amy Tousignant and Matthew Poliks.  Three great grandchildren, Aaliyah Ou, Carter Ou and Brynlee Ou.  Godchild Carol (Mamicki) Ray.  Adele F (Cook) Manicki (wife deceased 1-2-2018) and her two children, son Jeffery Cook and daughter Trisha and husband Jeffrey Degray and their two children Hannah and Cameron.  Edward’s funeral will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee at 9 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St. at 10 am.  Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Calling hours are on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, which Edward felt strongly about
