Elaine B. (Chmiel) Bourgeois, 71, of Ludlow, formerly of Chicopee, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her family.  She was born on November 12, 1953 in Westfield and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Malinowski) Chmiel.  Elaine was an underwriting assistant for Phoenix Mutual Insurance Co. Where she met the love of her life, and also worked at Vantis Life Insurance Co. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert D. Bourgeois, who died in 2011.  She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Emma.  Elaine is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Pouliot and her husband, Justin of Ludlow; a son, Shawn Haley of Chicopee; two grandchildren, Emma Pouliot and Kallen Reilly and several cousins.  Calling hours are on Monday, February 24th from 4 to 6 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St., in Chicopee.  Elaine’s funeral will be on Tuesday, February 25^th, 9 am at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St. in Chicopee at 10 am.  Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
