Eugene F. Tryba, 80, of Agawam, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at his home.  He was born on June 25, 1944 in Chicopee and was the son of the late Roman F. and Katherine G. (Bizon) Tryba.  Eugene was the owner of Tryba Oil Co. and retired in 2015. Eugene was a graduate of Chicopee High School and Western New England University with a master’s degree in business administration.

He loved taking trips on his Gold Wing to Sturgis, Nova Scotia, Florida and many more places. He would take a trip to Holden Beach, every year with the whole family.  Eugene was an avid golfer, in a golf league and weekends at the Cape.  He was a gentle man, always willing to help everyone who asked. He loved spending time with his family and always had a new joke to tell. Eugene was a friend to everyone he would meet.  He loved playing cards with his buddies on Friday night.  Gene fought a long battle and was on Dialysis for eight years.  He died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family

Eugene is survived by his wife of fifty seven years,  Joanne M. (Kindness) Tryba, daughter, Shelley Sullivan and her husband, Peter of Agawam; two sons, Todd Tryba and his wife, Sara of West Springfield and Scott Tryba and his wife Colleen of Chicopee; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Johnny, Emma, Sophia, Keegan, Brooke and Rob, Kellsey and Ronnie, Jenna and Brian, Madelyn and Milton, three great grandchildren, Jackson, Elliana and Lilah and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 10 to 1 pm.  A funeral home service will be held on Thursday at 12:30 pm.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
