Frances (Fran) Fleury, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on March 19, 2025, in her hometown of Chicopee, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 3, 1945, to James and Jeannette Sullivan, Fran grew up in a close-knit family where she learned the values of kindness, compassion, and love of family. Fran was known for her love of music, dance, and laughter. She adored spending time with the love of her life, her husband of 61 years, Frank. They shared a wonderful life together, and in earlier years, enjoyed time hiking, canoeing, golfing, or just going for a ride to look at the sights. The music would be blaring, with Fran singing along to all her favorite tunes. Fran also had a deep love of animals. Over the years, she had many loving pets and was a friend to all the local wild birds and squirrels.

Fran is survived by her husband, Francis Fleury, two children, John Fleury and his wife Diane, and Janet Craig and her husband Marc; her two grandchildren, Michelle Michaud and her husband Nathan and Danielle Ribeiro and her husband Shaun; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Theo; her sister, Barbara Bachand; her brother Brian Sullivan; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Daniel Sullivan.

A visiting hour will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St., Chicopee from 9:30 to 10:30am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee at 11am.  Burial will follow at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Baystate Hospice, 30 Capital Dr., West Springfield, MA 01089. We are eternally grateful to their staff for the compassionate care and support they provided in Fran’s final weeks.
