Genevieve Niemiec, 95, of Chicopee, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Vero at South Hadley. She was born on June 26, 1926 in Chicopee and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Midura) Bednarz. Genevieve was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. She was a secretary for the United States Defense Department, and later retired from the Wall Street Journal. Genevieve is predeceased by her son, Robert, her daughter, Irene Krzeminski and a nephew Gregory Bednarz. She leaves two nieces, Christine Wagenbach and her husband, Michael and Debbie Bednarz and a nephew, Paul Bednarz. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery at 9 am.
