Helen (Janick) Sypek, 96, of Chicopee, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Willimansett Center West.  She was a retired assembler at Precision Machinery Corp. in Chicopee.  Helen was born on November 25, 1920 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Piasecki) Sypek.  She was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr.  Helen loved flowers and gardening.  She is predeceased by her husband, Frank Sypek.  Helen is survived by her daughter, Frances Gauthier and her husband, Roger of Chicopee; her brother, Joseph Janick of Agawam; her sister, Sarah Galus of West Springfield; two grandchildren and three  great grandchildren, Nicole and Aaron McCormick and their son, Ryan and Paul and Kara Gauthier and their children, Kate and Daniel, all of Chicopee.  Helen’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 11:30 am.  Her burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 1 pm.  Calling hours are on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 am.  Memorial contributions may be made to Dakin Humane Society, P.O.
