Henry E. Yergeau, 94, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.  He was born on October 4, 1930, in Springfield and was the son of the late Henry D. and Laura Amidano Denault Yergeau.  Henry was a graduate of Trade Vocational High School. He built several homes in Longmeadow and Springfield before joining Balise Chevrolet as a mechanic and subsequently Foreman.  In 1975, he moved his part time business from his home garage to his full-time business under the name Henry’s Auto Clinic until 2010. He had a thriving business as he never hesitated to stop and lend a helping hand even to strangers with minimal money to pay.  Henry and his wife Dolores hosted many pool parties at their Fitzgerald Road home for family, friends and neighbors.  In his retirement during his final two years,  Henry enjoyed the community at Keystone Commons in Ludlow where he met many new friends.  Henry was a Korean War Army Veteran, stationed in Trieste, Italy where he was the General’s driver and mechanic. He was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Church. Henry is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dolores R. (Delay) Yergeau, children, Ronald Yergeau of West Springfield, Lynn Carney and husband, Terence of Belchertown, Kathleen Stier and husband, David of Deerfield and David Yergeau and wife, Monique of Fairfax, VT.: eleven grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Erin, Adam, Nicole, Jennifer, Michael, Taylor, Joseph, Krista and Melanie and seventeen great grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his son, Donald J. Yergeau, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Yergeau, brother, Robert Yergeau and sister, Marie Dorothea Maurer. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 4 to 7 pm.  A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 31st at Mary, Mother of Hope Church on 840 Page Blvd, Springfield at 10 am. A private Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Disabled American Veterans, 68 Court St. Springfield, MA 01103.  Visit: cierpialmemorialfuneralhomes.com
