Henry S. Chase, Jr., 79, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He was a retired meteorologist for the United States Air Force at Barnes Air Force Base. Henry was born on February 3, 1942 in Springfield and was the son of the late Henry S. Chase, Sr. and Phyllis T. (Niziankiewicz) Chase. He was an Air Force veteran during the Vietnam Conflict serving with the Det. 7, 24th Weather Squadron. Hank was an avid swimmer with the Mermaids at the Elms College, loved music and was a professional saxophone player. Besides his parents, Henry is predeceased by his wife, Carol (Ryll) Chase. He is survived by his two sons, Mark Chase and Andrew Chase and his wife, Katherine, a daughter, Lisa Archambault and six grandchildren, Brandon, Kendall, Katie, Cody, Emily and Jacob. Henry was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. A private service for both Henry and Carol will be held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee. Cierpial Memorial Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
