James M. Babiec, Jr. 36, of Ludlow, died on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at home. James was born on February 5, 1983 in Springfield. He was the son of James and Carol (Derosia) Babiec. He worked for the Great Brook Lumber Co. of Southwick. Besides his parents, Jimmy is survived by his two brothers, Adam and his wife, Kayla and Jeremy and his wife, Kate, his maternal grandmother, Catherine Walbridge, a nephew, Riley and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Max and Joan Babiec, William Derosia and Budinsky. Jimmy was an avid fisherman with a great love of the outdoors. He was a quiet man with a compassionate soul. Jimmy was a hard worker and you could always count on him to be there to do odd jobs for the family. He enjoyed reading, music, playing the guitar, family and his 2 cats Marley and Lola. One of his greatest loves was his nephew Riley who referred to him as Uncle George. James’ funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 9:30 am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church at Assumption, 104 Springfield St. in Chicopee at 10:30 am. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rays of Hope, 280 Chestnut St. Springfield, MA 01199 or the Michael J.
