Jane. A. (Tudryn) Oleskiewicz, 91, of Chicopee, passed away on August 1, 2015 at Wingate of West Springfield.  Jane worked for many years as a sales clerk at Steiger’s in Springfield and Balakier’s in Chicopee.  She was born on July 8, 1924 in Westfield; Jane spent the majority of her life in Chicopee. She was the daughter of the late William J. and Sophie A. (Cimochamowska) Tudryn. Jane was a graduate of Cathedral High School. She was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Rosary Sodality.  Jane was also a member of the American Legion, Post 452 and the past president of the Ladies Auxillary. She wrote, directed and staged many musical variety shows at the American Legion. Known throughout her life for using the power of music to spread happiness to others, Jane was “The Accordian Lady” who entertained at veteran’s homes, nursing homes and community events throughout Western Massachusetts.

Besides her parents, Jane is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Oleskiewicz and her sister, Theresa Obrycki and a brother, Edward Tudryn. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Frances Turdryn of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews, including nieces, Joyce Tudryn Friberger of New Jersey and Carol Oleskiewicz Carrier of Connecticut.

Jane’s funeral will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee Center, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning from 9 to 10 am.
