Janice J. Kagan, 85, of Chicopee, died on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. She was an executive secretary for Benefical Finance Co. Janice was born on April 24, 1935 in Holyoke to Joseph and Stasia J. (Rojsza) Kagan. She was a 1953 graduate of Chicopee High School and a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. Janice was a former past president of Society of Polish American Culture, a member of the Rosary Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Janice enjoyed traveling especially to Poland. She is survived by her son, Steve Haluszka, a sister, Pauline Thompson and her husband, Dave, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Drzyzga) Kagan, Dorothy (Kwiecien) Kagan and several nieces and nephews. Janice is predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph, Jr., Richard and William. A private graveside service was held with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Cierpial Memorial Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
