Jean B. (Stefanik) Shea, 95, formally of Chicopee, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Loomis House in Holyoke.  She was born on October 12, 1919 in Chicopee, and has been a longtime resident.  Jean attended Chicopee schools, and while working at UniRoyal, Jean met her husband, John B. Shea.  She also worked for the Rainbow Coat Co. in Springfield, where she was a talented seamstress.

Jean is predeceased by her husband, John Shea, who died in 2004; a daughter, Diane Ferreira; two brothers, John and Stanley and two sisters, Mary Giedrick and Alice Beauchamp.  She was a loving mother to her son, Gary Shea and his wife, Patricia of Southwick; her daughter, Deborah Shea and her husband, Louis Harm of Springfield and a son-in-law, Anthony Ferreira of Westfield.   Jean is also survived by her twin sister, Mildred “Millie” Marcil of Springfield; four grandchildren, Kristyn Hurley, Jill Knights, Stephen Shea and Aaron Shea and two great grandchildren, Shea Hurley and Jason Hurley. She will be dearly missed.

Jean’s funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Church, 319 Broadway in Chicopee at 11 am. Her burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
