SPRINGFIELD          Jessie (Robertson) Desmarais, 101, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Agawam East Rehab and Nursing Facility.  She was born on April 18, 1924 in Chicopee and was the daughter of the late William and Jessie (Wilson) Robertson.

In her earlier years, Jessie sang in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Choir and also in a trio, both of which were recorded on album. Jessie loved to cook and host family dinners. She and her husband opened up their home to many friends and family throughout their lives. Jessie’s life was a great testimony to her love and faith in God. Her joy and laughter were contagious.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Owczarski and son-in-law Karl of Chicopee, and her son, Kenneth Desmarais and daughter-in-law Claudette of Wilbraham; five grandchildren, Sandra and Gardner Belton, Sharon and Marc Amos, Rachel and John Ferola, Kenneth, Jr. and Amanda Desmarais, and Stephanie Maigret; thirteen great grandsons, Michael, Matthew, Devin, Donovan, Will, Jonathan, Noah, Brady, Conor, Jack, Milo, August, and Johnny, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jessie is predeceased by her husband, Armand Desmarais; daughter, Judith Connors and granddaughter, Lynn Connors; four brothers, Sandy, Duncan, William and Ernest; her twin sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Walczak and younger sister, Ella Czepiel.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 9:30 to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Viktor Kozhenevskiy, at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East Street in Chicopee. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee, following the services.
