Joseph A. Drewniak, 90, of Chicopee, died on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was a set up machinist at Stevens Arms and later retired from the former Hano Business Forms of Springfield. Joseph was born on April 22, 1926 in Chicopee and was the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Karas) Drewniak. He was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. During World War II, Joseph worked at Westover Air Force Base as a specialist. He was a member of the Chicopee Sportsman’s Club and a former member of the Moose Family Center. Joe was a “go to” guy for anything and everything, a “Mr. Fix It” who could fix anything. If there was no tool for what you needed, he would make one. He was also a care taker to many family members. Joseph is survived by his son, Paul Drewniak and his wife, Gail of Chicopee, a sister, Christine Kusnierz of Westfield, two grandchildren Kate Drewniak of Boston and Joseph Drewniak of West Springfield, his friend and companion, Ann Rose of Chicopee and many nieces, nephews and friends. Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Charlotte (Grzanka) Drewniak and his brothers and sisters, Frank Drewniak, Mary Kelleher, Edna Chaban, Catherine Kelly, John Drewniak and Raymond Drewniak. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 11 am. Calling hours are on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice.
