Juan A. “Carlos” Fuentes-Nieves, 44, of Springfield, MA and New York, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at home.  He was born on September 25, 1980 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and was the son of Othoniel Ortiz, Sr. and Wanda I. (Nieves) Ortiz.   Carlos worked as a delivery driver but enjoyed fishing in his spare time.  He is survived by his wife, Lucy (Vecchioly) Fuentes; three daughters, Alyssa Fuentes, Karla Fuentes and Emily Fuentes and five brothers, Othoniel Ortiz, Jr., Joshua Ortiz, Benjamin Ortiz, Emanuel Ortiz and Joel Ortiz. Calling hours are on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 5 to 9 pm. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, January 29^th at 10 am.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
