Katherine J. Dziewit known as (Kathy), 56, of Chicopee passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 6, 2021. She was born to the late Lois Barnes on December 19, 1964, in Springfield MA. Kathy will be missed by her three children Karen of Springfield, Eric and his wife Jessica of West Springfield, and Adam and his partner Michelle of Monson. She is also survived by her two grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Zachary and Julie to whom she was known as Amma. Kathy is also survived by her brother Ron Germaine and Fred Dziewit with whom she was married to but separated from. Kathy had a kind heart and loving soul. She was a great mother who loved her children dearly. In her early life you could find her singing Karaoke, going to concerts and enjoying life by the beach. Her favorite place was to be soaking up the sun at Old Orchard Beach. She loved listening to country western music and spending time with her loved ones. Kathy was immensely proud of her family and though she will be truly missed she leaves nothing but beautiful memories behind. While Kathy’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her. Her family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony. Visiting hours will take place at Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St., Chicopee on Friday June 11th, from 4 – 6 pm with a service at 5:30 pm. Kathy was a breast cancer survivor, so the family wishes that people make donations in her name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in lieu of sending flowers.
