Lillian L. (Gelinas) Lyons, 105, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Heritage Hall West. She was born on April 14, 1913 in Chicopee Falls, and was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Emma (Charland) Gelinas. Lillian lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Springfield. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She loved to play cards with her family, read, dance and always enjoyed being at family gatherings or parties. Lillian is predeceased by her husband, John E. Lyons, Sr. who died in 1983, her grandson, Kevin Lyons, five brothers, Alfred, Albert, Leodore, Arthur and Joseph, two sisters, Gertrude Gelinas and Jeanette Kindness and two nieces, Joan Guardione and Jeanne Parro. She is survived by her son, John E. Lyons, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Somers, CT, grandchildren, Marybeth Sanchez and her husband, Patrick and Michael Lyons; great grandchildren, Liam, Aidan, and Maggie Sanchez and Bailey and Riley Lyons; god-daughter, Joanne Tryba, her husband, Gene and their children and many nieces, nephews and their children. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 11 am. Family and friends may gather on Saturday from 10 to 11 am before the service. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
