Margaret E. (Tourville) Matroni, 75, of Chicopee, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was a crisis counselor at Crossroads and Mt. Tom Institute and was also case manager for the Northampton Welfare Office. Margaret was born on June 8, 1940 in West Springfield and was the daughter of the late Gordon and Lillian (Gilman) Tourville. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ludlow. Margaret embraced life and lived an active life.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Matroni and her five brothers, James, Joseph, Thomas, William and Robert Tourville. She is survived by two sons, James Przybyla of Springfield and Steven Cuoco of Northampton; a step-daughter, Cathy Bozak of Agawam and a daughter-in-law, Holly LaPort of Chicopee; four grandchildren, Andrew Przybyla, Joshua Kogut, Brianna Cuoco and Hannah Przybyla, a great granddaughter, Ashleigh Anne Woodard and several beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 12:30 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee, followed by her burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made to Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen, 170 Pendexter Ave., Chicopee, MA 01013.
