Mark T. Mendrala, 48, of Longmeadow, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. He was a twenty-two-year veteran of the Longmeadow Police Department. Mark was born on March 4, 1970 in Holyoke. He was the son of Robert F. and Lorraine T. (LaRiviere) Mendrala of Sun City Center, FL. Besides his parents he is survived by his beloved and loving partner, Jill Savino Sniadach of Florence, MA, the Savino family and his uncle, John J. Slock of Alton, NH. He is predeceased by his aunt, Dolores S. Slock. Mark was a 1989 graduate of Longmeadow High School. He received his master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England University and was honored in Who’s Who in Colleges and Universities. Mark and Jill enjoyed biking and kayaking together as well as traveling to Florida to spend time with his parents. In addition to being an avid outdoorsman he was an accomplished woodworker. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St., Chicopee Falls. His burial will be private.
