DUE TO THE STORM, MICHAEL’S FUNERAL IS POSTPONED TO SATURDAY, FEB. 28th

SPRINGFIELD          Michael J. McCarthy, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born on December 27, 1962 in Springfield and was the son of James J. McCarthy and the late Angelina T. (Condino) McCarthy.  Michael was a 1988 graduate of American International College and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He liked going to the casino and playing the lottery. Besides his mother, Michael is predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Lynn McCarthy Abbott.  He is survived by his brother, James McCarthy of Springfield; his sister, Nancy C. McCarthy of Ludlow;  nieces, Melanie, Michelle and April and favorite cousins, Linda, Jason and Rocky.  Calling hours are on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28^th at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home, 69 East St. in Chicopee from 10 to 11 am.  A service at the funeral home will be held at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
