Nicholas Menec was called safely home, Thursday May 6th from Samaritan Hospice Care. He was born in Lenox Dale, MA. The son of Nicholas Menec and Mary (Vecchia) Menec, he attended Lee & West Springfield schools where Victor & Medura Bourbeau raised Nick and his brother Thomas. Nick was a long-time resident of Willimansett, Nick & his wife Norma moved in with their son Ron in Eastampton NJ six months ago. He worked for Tom Ahearn Trucking and LEGO. Nicholas was a member of St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church.

He leaves his beloved wife, Norma (Lepage) Menec and is a loving father of Nicholas Menec of New York, Christina Menec-Dritt of Rhode Island, Thomas Menec & his wife, Abbie of Rhode Island, Ronald Boulanger whom he lived with in New Jersey, and Timothy Boulanger & his wife, Dawn of Springfield MA, and daughter, Andree Marie Menec who predeceased him in 1994.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Jay, Jill, Ector, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Christopher, Ashley, Grace, Gavin, Nora, Ava, Matthew, and Samantha. He was also a great-grandfather to 6 great-grandchildren: Prettlo, Sophia, Mathis, Angel, Lilly, and David. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas J. Menec of Chicopee, sister-in-law, June Rouleau of Chicopee, brother-in-law, Norman Lepage of Belchertown, sister-in-law, Donna Sullivan of Springfield, and predeceased sister-in-law, Joyce Quinlan. Calling hours are on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 3 to 7 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee. Nick’s funeral will take place on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from the funeral home at 10 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. in Chicopee at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Please remember social distancing and wearing a mask.
