CHICOPEE    Richard C. Harer, Jr., 87, of Chicopee, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. He was born on July 1, 1937 in Wappingers Falls, New York and was the son of the late Richard Sr. and Elizabeth (Scott) Harer. Dick was a Navy veteran. He enjoyed golf and bowling. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Beverly A. (Klaus) (Chevrette) Harer; sons and daughters, Richard D. Harer and his wife, Karen of Martinsburg, WV, Michele Chevrette of Southwick, Sharon Jackson and her husband, Doug of West Hartford, CT and Stephen Chevrette of Chicopee; a brother, George “Scott” Harer of Naples FL and sisters, Barbara Mallett of Randolph and Lynn Launier of Carmel IN and four grandchildren, Taylor Harer, Jill Harer, Sylvia Jackson and Eli Jackson. Dick is predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Harer, Helen Tucker, Penelope Mercier and a brother Glenn Harer.
