Sandra A. (Whateley) Peters, 65, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024 at home with her children by her side.  She was born on March 25, 1959 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late Carl Whateley and Frances (Bruno) Whateley.  Sandra attended Chicopee High School. She was a cook at Chicopee Comprehensive High School for over 25 years. She loved the beach, especially going to the Seafood Festival at Hampton Beach every year with her family. Sandra loved motorcycles and having a good time, going to concerts and car shows. She is survived by her children, Aleesha Meagher and her husband, Joseph of West Springfield, Kyle Peters and his wife, Trisha of Chicopee and Mercedes Johnson and her husband, Gage of Chicopee; step children, Daniel Peters and his wife, Kristen of Minnesota and Michael Sabadosa and his wife, Michelle, of Florida; her brother, Eric Whateley and his wife Glenda of Chicopee; her sister, Lynn Whateley of Chicopee, her aunt Gail; six grandchildren, Nolan, Naomi, Quinn, Vincent, Eva and Chloe; her former husband, Daniel Peters and his wife, Cynthia and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Homes on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 4 to 7 pm, with a funeral home service at 6:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 330 Whitney Ave. Ste. 420, Holyoke, MA 01040.
