Stanley A. Krawiec, 90, passed away quietly in his sleep on Tuesday, December 18, 2017. He was a retired manager of Chicopee Auto Exchange. Born in the Bondsville section of Palmer on April 25, 1927, he was the son of the late Andrew and Catherine (Gesiak) Krawiec. Stan was happily married to his wife, Dorothy J. (Partyka) Krawiec for sixty years. The father of three children, Karen DeGray of Arizona, John Krawiec of Chicopee and Michael Krawiec, (deceased). Stanley also leaves a son-in-law, Joe DeGray of Arizona, sister, Dolores Salamon, Bondsville, sister-in-law, Mary Krawiec, of West Springfield, a nephew and several nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Walter Krawiec and sister, Alice Pataky. Stanley was a World War II Navy veteran, having served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S. S. Princeton. He was a long time member of the Chicopee Elks Lodge 1840. Stan had an active social life and many friends. He loved traveling to new places, trips to Las Vegas and playing cards. Stan loved going to baseball games, plays and concerts. We will all miss his wit and sense of humor. He had a wonderful laugh. We are all grateful to have had him in our lives. Stan’s funeral will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee Center at 9 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday, December 29 from 6 to 8 pm. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Stanley’s name.
