Statia V. (Pudlo) Niejadlik Kasperowski, 95, of Chicopee, died on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Heritage Hall West in Agawam, after a brief illness. She was the personal secretary to the president of Advance Manufacturing Corp. in Westfield for twenty two years. Statia was born on July 17, 1920 in Chicopee and was a life -long resident.
She was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Szynal) Pudlo. Statia was a 1937 Pro Merito graduate of Chicopee High School. After her retirement, at age sixty three, she volunteered until age eighty eight as a classroom teacher’s aide in reading instruction to immigrant children. She received numerous recognition awards for this activity over these twenty five years. Her love of literature and education was dominant through-out her life.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Charles J. Niejadlik, who died in 1976 and her second husband, Stanley M. Kasperowski, who died in 1996, three step sons, Richard Kasperowski, Robert Kasperowski and Michael Kasperowski, and two brothers, John Pudlo and Walter Pudlo. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Daniel Niejadlik, MD and his wife, Catherine of Boca Raton, FL, and Dr. Kenneth Niejadlik, MD and is wife, Kathleen Markey of Pine, CO; a step son, Dr. Alan Kasperowski, DDS and his wife Jean, of Westfield; a step daughter-in-law, Cindy Sullivan of West Springfield; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10:30 am. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
