Theodora “Teddi” J. (Zajchowski) Galica, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Mount Marie Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Holyoke. Teddi was a teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Holyoke. She was born on February 20, 1938 in Chicopee and was the daughter of the late Theodore J. and Anna May (Bulecza) Zajchowski. Teddi enrolled at Elms College at age 41 and earned her BA in social work, graduating the same day as her son, Gary. She then went on to earn her Master’s in Education Degree also from Elms College. Teddi liked traveling, shopping and spending time with her
family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her collectables including Pewter, Tea Cups and Depression Glass. Besides her parents, Teddi is predeceased by her husband, Anthony E.
Galica. She is survived by her son, Dr. Gary E. Galica and his wife, Laurie Charland Galica of Medford; a brother, David Zajchowski of Chicopee and two grandchildren: Dr. Scott E. Galica and his fiance, Katherine A. Jones of Chelmsford and Emily C. Galica of Medford. She also leaves a brother-inlaw Zeigfred Galica of West Springfield, a sister-in-law, Helen Galica of Westboro, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 12 from 4 to 7 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at Sacred Heart Church, 387 Chestnut St. in Springfield at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 1 pm.
