Valmore L. Hebert, 86, of West Springfield, died on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke. He was a retired pieceworker at Smith & Wesson in Springfield. Valmore was born on November 23, 1930 in Putnum, CT. He was the son of the late Adelard and Marie Rose (Supernaut) Hebert. Valmore was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church and an Air Force Veteran during the Korean War. He was a devote member of the Dominican 3rd Order. Valmore was an avid sports fan, who loved the Cincinnati Reds and was a closet Red Sox fan. Valmore is predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty four years, Shirley (Robitaille) Hebert, who died in 2012 and by his twelve siblings. He is survived by his two sons, Paul Hebert and his wife, Maryanne of Springfield and Richard Hebert and his wife, Liz of Florida; a daughter, Nancy Duggan and her husband, William of Springfield and raised as a daughter, Linda LaFrancis of Westfield; 8 grandchildren, PJ, Joey, Christopher and Taylor Hebert, Danielle Kane, Patrick and William Duggan and Jamie Shepard and five great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Soldier’s Home. The funeral will be on Friday, September 22, 2017 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 11:30 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Mary, Mother of Hope Church, on 480 Page Blvd. in Springfield at 12:30 pm. Burial with military honors will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 2pm. Calling hours are on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke, Entertainment Fund, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
