Alfred S. Fober, 95, formerly of Chicopee and Westfield, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Wingate at West Springfield. He was a retired trucker for C&S Trucking and the owner of Fober Country Store in Westfield. Alfred was born on September 15, 1923 in Chicopee. He was the son of the late Stanley and Katherine (Maciolek) Fober. Alfred was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr and an Army Air Force veteran during World War II, serving with the 2004 Ordinance Maintenance Company. He enjoyed playing Bingo, cards and gardening. Alfred is survived by his daughter, Laurie Topjian and her husband, Robert of West Springfield and four grandchildren, Albert, Dustin, Nicholas Topjian and Lindsay Woodbury. He is predeceased by his wife, Celia (Hermanowski) Fober; a son, Lynn Fober and two brothers, Albert Fober and Stanley Fober. A service, with military honors, will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10 am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam. |
