Jennie L. Pietras (Karpinski)

Jennie L. (Karpinski) Pietras, 90, of Chicopee, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at home with family by her side. She was a custodian at St. Stanislaus School for many years. Jennie was born on June 24, 1929 in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield. She was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. Jennie loved to cook and do crafts. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. Jennie is predeceased by her husband, Adolph W. Pietras, who died on August 21, 2005 and her son-in-law, Robert McLean, II. She is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Grenier and her husband, Richard of Chicopee and Gail McLean of Florida; five grandchildren, Eric Grenier and his wife, Bonnie, Scott Grenier and his wife Kristin, Jamie Asselin, Timothy Asselin and Robert Asselin, III; two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Tegan Grenier, her sister-in-law, Phyllis Haber of CT, several nieces and nephews and her companion and caregiver, Edwin Ortiz of Springfield. Jennie’s funeral will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 9 am from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are on Sunday from 5 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
