Donna M. Slattery, 71, of Chicopee, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center.  She was born on July 11, 1952 in Springfield, MA to the late Edward and Christa (Prufer) Gorman. She is also predeceased by her beloved companion Magic Moment (Moe). She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Slattery; her son, John Slattery and his wife, Andrea; her daughter, Jill Slattery; her grandchildren: John, Sam, and Robert; her siblings, Edward Gorman, Patricia Moulten, Kathy Trela, Debra Parler, Kimberly Kelsey, and many nieces and nephews. Donna’s greatest passion was for all animals. She dedicated most of her life to working with animals at multiple pet shops and through wildlife rehabilitation. Donna was an avid bowler and spent decades of Thursday nights bowling at the Chicopee AMF.  A vinyl enthusiast, she took great pride in updating her collection and spinning 45s.  Donna enjoyed volunteering her time and sharing her jewelry making skills at Willimansett West Nursing Home. Horse racing, flea markets, camping, and the Patriots were also some of her favorites. Donna was well liked by all, and she continued making new friends throughout her life. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 21, 2023, from 4 to 6 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls, with a service at 6 pm.  In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in her name to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA  01105.
