Eleanor “Dolly” R. (Arment) Babcock, 78, of Chicopee, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  She was born on January 28, 1945 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Irene B. (Rowe) Arment.  Dolly is pre-deceased by her husband, George Babcock, who died in 2019.  She was a waitress, bartender, and a school bus driver.  Dolly was a former member of the Pioneer Valley Motorcycle Club, former secretary for the Shine Bowling League on Sunday nights and also volunteered for the veterans.  She enjoyed bingo, family gatherings and loved feeding the animals around her house.  She is survived by her children, James M. Sherry, Tammy L. Hough and her husband, Dwaine, and John A. Maggiolino and his wife, Josie Smith; brothers, Alfred Arment and Charles Arment, Jr. and a sister, Patricia A. Niemiec and her husband, Ted; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Dolly is predeceased by her sons, Joseph P. Sherry and Jeffrey A. Maggiolino; a brother, Robert Arment, and two sisters, Joyce Babineau and Gloria Babcock and a grandson.  A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 10 to 11am with a service at 11am, followed by her burial in Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
