Gail M. Kotfila, 81, of Chicopee, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Sixteen Acres Health Care Center in Springfield. She was a telephone operator and clerk at New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. and Verizon. Gail was born on August 12, 1941 in Holyoke and was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret M. (Spinks) Kotfila. She was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart School in Holyoke. Besides her parents, Gail is predeceased by her best friend, Bernice “Penny” White, a brother, Raymond Kotfila, and a sister, Judith Wall. She is survived by her two brothers Thomas Kotfila and his wife, Rose of Chicopee and Robert Kotfila and his wife, Elaine of Easthampton, a sister-in-law, Joan Kotfila and many nieces, nephews and cousins. For 20 years, Gail and Penny were Florida snowbirds and loved to travel. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. in Chicopee at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley.
