Gloria A. (Fontaine) Couture, 79, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at home.  She was a medical records assistant at the Jewish Nursing Home. Gloria was born on September 7, 1943 in Chicopee and was the daughter of Leo and Aurore (Fontaine) Fontaine.  She is predeceased by her husband, Charles R. Couture.  Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family vacationing and attending sporting events.  She is survived by three daughters: Pamela Frappier and her husband, John, of Granby, Sharon Trembley and her husband, David, also of Granby and Brenda Couture of Chicopee; five grandchildren, Alicia Frappier, Julia Frappier, Ryan Trembley, Jeremy Trembley and Kristen Trembley; a sister, Gabrelle LaFlamme of Chicopee; a brother, Eugene Fontaine of East Longmeadow; a sister-in-law, Norma Topor of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was one of twelve children, she is predeceased by nine siblings, Gerard, Robert, Beatrice, Theresa, Norman, Leonard, Donald, Bernard, and Richard. Calling hours are on Tuesday, May 9^th at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 4 to 7 pm.  Gloria’s funeral will be on Wednesday, May 10^th , 10 am at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St. in Chicopee at 11 am.  Burial will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 1 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 815 Worcester St., Springfield, MA 01151 or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
