Irene M. Stanek, 94, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 22, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on September 7, 1929 in Chicopee and was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Novak) Stanek.  Irene was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus.  She was a graduate of American International College and Springfield Nursing School.  Irene worked at Baystate Health as a nurse in health services.   Calling hours for Irene are on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi       or to Dakin Humane Society, P.O. Box 6307 Springfield, MA  01101.
