James W. Rokosz, died on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born in Chicopee on August 3, 1945, son of the late Walter P. and Stella M. (Majewicz) Rokosz.  James graduated from Chicopee VOIC High School.  He served his country during the Vietnam War as a machine gun squad leader, in the 1^st Cav Air Mobile Unit.  James received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star V and Combat Infantry Badge.  Returning from Vietnam, he was owner of the Rokosz Livery Service of Chicopee and Somers, CT.  James was a 55 year member of the Chevrolet Club of America. In retirement, he enjoyed going to the FD conventions and going to the casinos.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee from 9:30 to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral home service at 11 am.  Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with military honors.
