Joseph F. “Papa” Egan, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center from Pancreatic Cancer. He was a plumber who retired from Local Union 104. Joseph was born in Springfield on March 21, 1960, and was the son of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Hagerty) Egan. He is survived by a daughter, Ashly Egan Patry and her husband, Marc of Ludlow and two grandchildren, Bentley and Easton. Calling hours are at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee on Friday, July 28^th from 5 to 7 pm. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 29^th at Mary Mother of Hope Church on 840 Page Blvd. in Springfield at 11 am. The burial will be later. Anyone who wishes to honor Joe is requested to contribute to his grandson’s college fund via check and mailed to M & T Bank c/o Bentley or Easton Patry College Fund, 528 Center St. Ludlow, MA 01056.
