Lois (Tatro) Carter, 92, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at home.  She was born on January 1, 1931 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late Louis M. and Agnes (Fleming) Tatro.  Lois was a graduate of Commerce High School. She loved to vacation on Cape Cod with her family.  Lois is survived by her husband of seventy two years, Norbert A. Carter; three children, Richard M. Carter and his wife, Sherry of Agawam,  Susan M. Egan and her husband, John of Ludlow and Michael L. Carter and his wife, Donna of Springfield; four grandchildren, Marianne T. D’Antonio and her husband, Brandon of Easthampton, Laura J. VanDeusen and her husband, Jason of West Springfield, Sean R. Egan of Ludlow and Kayla M. Egan of Ludlow; four great grandchildren, Sofia D’Antonio, Emma D’Antonio, George VanDeusen and Thaddeus VanDeusen and several nieces and nephews. Lois is predeceased by three sisters, Eleanor DuBois, Alice Flynn and Carol Vumbaco. Her burial will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 10 am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
