Patricia “Pat” (Haettich) Olbrys, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully at Care One at Redstone in East Longmeadow, on Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born in June 13, 1947 to the late Orrin and Margaret (Roach) Haettich and raised in Buffalo, NY. Educated in Buffalo, Pat graduated from South Park High School in 1966 and furthered her education, graduating from Holyoke Community College. Pat worked as the Accounts Payable manager for the Toolkraft Corp, in Springfield and until her retirement, as a paraprofessional in the Chicopee School System at Bellamy Middle School. Pat was a volunteer. If you needed help you could always count on Pat. Whether it was making Pierogi or being Treasurer of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Rosary Society or her favorite, volunteering for the Friday night bingo games at St Stanislaus School, Pat was a familiar face around the school. She was also one of the Mermaids at the Elms College.

Pat enjoyed tracing her family ancestry on the internet and playing games on Facebook, where she especially like chatting with her friends and looking at dog and cat videos. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Will. She leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, William of Chicopee. She also leaves behind three sisters, Margaret Harrison of Monson, Pamela Hull of Cocoa, Fl and Michele Hutchinson of Springfield. She will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews here in Massachusetts and her many cousins in Buffalo.

Pat’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 9 am from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee Center, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St. in Chicopee at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are on Thursday, January 27th from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Stanislaus School Education Fund, 566 Front St. Chicopee, MA 01013 or the charity of one’s choice.
