Richard A. Cavanaugh, 75, of Springfield, died on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was a machine operator for the Springfield Newspapers. Richard was born on September 1, 1945 in Springfield and was the son of the late Thomas J. and Marion G. (Kelly) Cavanaugh. He is predeceased by his wife, Caroline R. (Thomas) Cavanaugh and a daughter, Coral Ann May. Richard is survived by two sons, Richard and Michael Cavanaugh, both of Chicopee; a brother, Robert T. Cavanaugh, Sr. of Agawam; five grandchildren, Rylie, Peyton, Ella, Grace and Ava. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and other extened family members. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Western Mass Kidney Care, 2000 Main St., Springfield, MA 01103.
