Richard Tomczyk, 84, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. He was born on June 17, 1939 in Chicopee and was the son of the late Valenty and Katarzyna (Matuszczak) Tomczyk. Richard was a retired systems programmer at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He served his country as a Corporal in the U S Marines. Richard is survived by two sons, Richard Tomczyk, Jr. of Leominster and his son, Jordan Tomczyk of Idaho, Robert Tomczyk and his wife, Cheryl of Sterling, MA and their children, Emily Meyers, and her husband, William, Jack Tomczyk and Robert J. Tomczyk and Richard is survived by his former spouse, Barbara (Bolduc) Silver. Richard’s funeral will be held on Friday, September 29th, 9 am at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
