Ruth J. O’Connor, 93, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2019 in Springfield, where she lived most of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles J. O’Connor and Ruth F. O’Connor. Ruth had a creative spirit. She was a painter, an accomplished Spanish dancer and Spanish guitar player. It was the guitar, along with her deep Catholic faith, which she said, “always chased her blue days away”. Ruth was an animal lover, owning several dogs during her life. She leaves behind her faithful companion, Sheila. A charming and witty person, Ruth touched all who met and knew her. She was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, Spfld. A special thanks to her loving neighbors, Gil and Sue, whom she considered family. Many thanks to all who assisted her in her later years. A graveside committal service will be held on Thursday, 7/18/19 at 11 am at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fuller Rd., Chicopee.
